Prep Before You Come And Get Your Glow
-
Unlike most beauty services, there is some prep you must do BEFORE getting a spray tan.
Prep begins the week prior to your session. If you are not already, start sluggin’ down that water and moisturizing your body to really hydrate your skin. This will help your tan last even longer!
Love your skincare routine but also love a flawless spray tan? Here's why pressing pause on retinol before your tan is key:
Retinol Speeds Up Skin Cell Turnover This powerhouse ingredient can cause your skin to shed faster, which means your tan could fade unevenly or not last as long.
Why 3 Days?
Stopping retinol at least 3 days before gives your skin time to stabilize, ensuring an even and long-lasting tan.
• Skip Other Exfoliators Too
Not just retinol -avoid AHAs, BHAs, and scrubs leading up to your session.
These products can make your skin too sensitive and lead to patchy results.
Pro tip: After your tan, wait a few days before reintroducing retinol into your routine to keep your glow looking flawless for longer! Are you on day three of hair? Wash BEFORE your spray tan or else you will need to wait another 24 hours after you get your spray tan.
If you take nothing else away but this step, I will be a happy gal. Exfoliate your body 12-24 hours prior to your session. And don’t forget your back, ankles and neck!

The day of your session, please avoid lotions, perfumes or deodorants, as these will act as a barrier between your skin and the solution.
Wear dark, loose fitted clothing to and after your session.
